Everything you need to know
Milan's Area C is in effect Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Always refer to the guidelines provided by the City of Milan: Area C - City of Milan.
You can view the current rules for entering Milan's Area C on the website: AreaC, MyAreaC, purchase and activate your entry ticket within 24 hours of driving through the zone.
If the service shows as “can be activated” or “active” on a hybrid vehicle, it means that ATM has not recognized the vehicle. In this case, please contact MTA.UfficioAreaC@comune.milano.it
If you change your license plate number, you’ll need to reactivate the Area C service for the new plate. You can do this in three different ways:
After submitting your request, you will receive a first notification regarding the deactivation of the old license plate and a second one regarding the activation of the new one.
When you activate the service, your license plate will be assigned a unique PIN code, which you must enter on the dedicated website to manage access to Milan's Area C.
Before activating Area C Milan with Telepass, you must cancel your payment through the City of Milan’s MyAreaC portal. For more information, go to the “PIN Cancellation” section: Area C: Registration - City of Milan
The Milan Area C service becomes active at midnight on the day following your activation request on the website or in the app.
If you selected the option to be charged retroactively for trips, activation takes effect on the same day you submit your request.
If your license plate is exempt from the Milan Area C fee, you do not need to activate the service in the app. If the service is active, go to the app or the Reserved Area to deactivate it:
If your license plate is exempt from payment but is not recognized by the City of Milan, it will appear as a paying vehicle and you will receive charges from the City of Milan in the app. For further information, please contact: MTA.UfficioAreaC@comune.milano.it
The amount charged for the Area C service is not subject to VAT. Therefore, Telepass generates an accounting document (not a tax document) in the name and on behalf of the City of Milan, which serves as valid proof of actual use of access to Area C in Milan.
You can find your Area C Milan transactions in the “Summary” section (first icon at the bottom left of the app) > “Transactions.” In the same section, you can also create an expense report.
