The Auting startup is the winner of Telepass Pay Ecosystem, the competition for ideas on sustainable mobility

22 January 2020

Auting, the first private car sharing platform in Italy, is the winning startup of Telepass Pay Ecosystem, the contest launched by Telepass to select new companies, software firms, and technology providers able to offer innovative solutions and services for a sustainable mobility in an urban environment. Launched last November, this contest set up by Telepass Group has seen the participation of over 50 startups from all over Italy, with projects designed for the development of sustainable mobility tools through the use of new technologies.

The Auting project was voted the best by a jury of experts: The platform developed by this startup directly connects people looking for a car for a limited period of time with car owners willing to share their vehicles when they are not using them. Through the App, those looking for a car and those who own it can agree on all details according to their needs, up to the delivery of the keys. The rate includes an insurance package that protects both the driver and the vehicle owner. Telepass will make its Telepass Pay digital payment platform available to the winner startup. The development and marketing of the platform will be followed up by Telepass experts, who will support every step of the development of the Auting project. Additionally, the company will receive a cash prize of 10.000 euro to help it consolidate its business.

Spotter - an App that shares information on free parking in the city - and Volvero, an application that allows owners of cars, motorcycles, campers, or vans to share their vehicle with people who need one, were among the startup finalists of Telepass Pay Ecosystem. "Over the past three years we have changed the face of Telepass, which has evolved from being a simple electronic toll payment system to one of the largest digital payment platforms dedicated to mobility services," said Telepass CEO Gabriele Benedetto. "We work with an inclusive logic - he continued - by offering an increasingly wide range of quality services at the exact moment our millions of customers need them. Auting's victory is in line with this strategy, and we are convinced that our two worlds, working together, will be able to grow and achieve important results. At the same time, I want to express my heartfelt thanks to all the other startups who participated in our project, an experience that allowed us to learn a lot and that we will certainly repeat" concluded Benedetto.

The new Telepass Pay Next project was introduced during the awards ceremony. Telepass Pay Next is an innovative platform developed by Telepass to facilitate the "connected driving" experience through a new voice interaction device that allows a car to interact with all Telepass and Telepass Pay services without the need to interface with any mobile App. The Telepass Pay Next platform will be gradually available from February to Telepass customers who sign up for a long-term rental with ARVAL. Thanks to this exclusive collaboration, cars will be able to pay for Street Parking or book a car wash automatically. Cars will detect the activation of services based on preferences set by customers.
