ZTL Palermo: everything you need to know
The ZTL of Palermo is a limited traffic zone that covers the central area of the city. Access is permitted only to authorized vehicles or to those who purchase the relevant daily ticket. With Telepass you can manage entry in a simple and automatic way, directly from the app.
How to pay the ZTL in Palermo
To access the ZTL in Palermo you must have a valid access permit, unless you fall into one of the exempt or authorized categories. The daily ticket can be purchased through the official channels provided by the Municipality of Palermo and by AMAT (Municipal Public Transport Company), including:
- The dedicated online portal for Palermo ZTL.
- Authorized retailers and merchants located throughout the territory.
- Digital platforms enabled for ZTL pass payment.

What are the ZTL Palermo hours
The ZTL in Palermo covers the historic city center and is divided into two main areas: Central ZTL and Peripheral ZTL. Currently, the Central ZTL is active from Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
On public holidays, the daytime ZTL is not active, unless otherwise specified by municipal regulations. Who can access the Palermo ZTL:
- Residents with a valid pass.
- Vehicles with a permanent or temporary permit issued by the Municipality.
- Vehicles that purchase a daily access ticket.
- Certain exempt categories (such as law enforcement, emergency vehicles, and vehicles with disability badges).
Before entering the Palermo ZTL, it is always advisable to check for any updates on hours, perimeter, and exempt categories through the official Municipality channels.

How to verify access in the Palermo ZTL

How the Palermo ZTL service works
Open the app

Access the Access and Passes section and select ZTL Palermo.
Activate it and access in ZTL
Activate the option: from that moment the license plate recognition will be automatic when you enter the ZTL.
