In Bari there are several types of parking, which can be divided between on-street parking and structured parking.
On-street parking is managed by AMTAB (Azienda Mobilità e Trasporti Autofiloviari Bari) on behalf of the Municipality. Paid spaces are marked by blue lines.
Structured parking or barrier parking is underground or surface level, attended or unattended, public or private. The rate is generally hourly, with discounts for daily tickets and weekly or monthly passes, and they are open all day.
If you are a tourist staying in a hotel or bed & breakfast, make sure that the facility where you are staying provides reserved spaces for guests or parking with special rates through partner agreements.
If you find yourself in Bari for just one day or a few hours, paid parking on blue lines may be the most suitable solution. Remember that the cost and parking method may vary depending on the area, day, and time, so always check the nearest vertical signage at the point where you leave your car.
It is advisable to verify that, especially if far from the city center, your parking location is a short distance from a public transport stop.
The blue lines in Bari are in effect from Monday to Saturday, from 8:30 AM to 8:30 PM, unless otherwise indicated on the signage. These are the Regulated Parking Zones (ZSR) in which paid parking is divided, with respective rates:
The minimum parking cost is €0.25. On Sundays and public holidays, parking is free. Seasonal holiday activations of blue lines are possible in seaside zones.
In Bari, blue lines are free for residents and those residing in the ZSR and for people with disabilities, all equipped with a permit to be displayed clearly inside the windshield.
Pay attention to the signage: if you are parking in Bari in areas called "islands", parking is paid for everyone.
If you need a longer stay in Bari, structured parking lots or barrier-controlled parking facilities can meet your needs. These parking lots are located both in the city center and near major infrastructure and key points of the city.
They generally have variable hourly rates, are open 24 hours or nearly so, and offer discounts for daily parking and weekly and monthly subscription plans.
Some are affiliated with the Telepass Parking service, included in all offers. Parking in an affiliated parking lot allows you to speed up entry and exit procedures, since your device will work exactly as on the highway: to enter, look for the bollards with the logo and take the reserved lane. Slow down when you are near the barrier and pass after hearing the signal from your device. You can check parking sessions and expenses from the Telepass App with charges to your account every three months.
