In Viareggio you can pay in three ways:

  • using the traditional parking meters (which accept both cash and cashless payments like cards);
  • using the Telepass app
  • using the MoVer app from the company that manages parking in the Tuscan municipality

Important to remember: if you use the parking meter to purchase parking on blue lines, you can display the ticket inside your car, or, if you use the Telepass App, the downloadable receipt.



What are the costs of parking on blue lines in Viareggio?

We remind you that the cost may vary depending on the area, day, and time when you park, so always check the nearest vertical signage to the blue line parking spot. In Viareggio, the controlled parking areas are part of the ZPRU (Zone of Particular Urban Relevance) which is further divided into 5 sub-zones, with the following rates:

  • Sub-zone A: free first 30 minutes; €1.00 first hour; €1.50 second hour; €2.00 subsequent hours; €8.00 daily;
  • Sub-zone B: free first 15 minutes; €1.00 first hour; €2.00 subsequent hours; €12.00 daily;
  • Sub-zone C: free first 30 minutes; €1.00 first hour; €1.50 second hour; €2.00 subsequent hours; €8.00 daily;
  • Sub-zone D: free first 30 minutes; €1.00 first hour; €1.50 second hour; €2.00 subsequent hours; €8.00 daily;

All blue line parking hours in Viareggio

  • Sub-zone A: every day from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM and from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM (Via Fratti seaside 8:00 AM-8:00 PM);
  • Sub-zone B: from April 20 to September 30: every day from 8:00 AM to midnight; from October 1 to April 19: Monday to Thursday from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Friday to Sunday from 8:00 AM to midnight;
  • Sub-zone C: every day from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM and from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM (Via Vespucci section Cei-Fratti and Via De Amicis 24 hours);
  • Sub-zone D: every day from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM and from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM;
  • Sub-zone E: every day from 8:30 AM to 8:00 PM.


Viareggio municipality concessions: who gets free blue line parking?

In Viareggio, blue line parking is free or discounted if you fall into these categories:

  • residents in ZPRU sub-zones with a valid permit until the end of the calendar year;
  • healthcare personnel affiliated with the local USL health authority;
  • press and information agencies;
  • disabled people with a badge;
  • people providing home care to family members residing in ZPRU sub-zones.

If you are a resident, there may be exceptions to the possibility of free parking on blue lines: keep an eye on the signage. Remember to always display your permit clearly visible inside the windshield.
