Parking on blue lines in Florence
If you are in Florence for only a day or a few hours, parking on blue lines in ZCS may be the most suitable option. Always remember that cost and parking rules may vary depending on the area, day, and time, so always check the nearest vertical signage where you leave your car.
These are the blue line rates in Florence:
- ZCS 1: first hour €2.40; second hour and subsequent hours: €3.00 per hour;

Parking near Santa Maria Novella station
To park in Florence near Santa Maria Novella station, close to the city center, Fortezza da Basso, and the Medici Chapels, there are several options.
The first is the Stazione S.M.N. parking lot, a large facility with 877 car spaces, of which 590 are short-term. It costs €3.80 per hour, and from the second hour onward, the rate is chargeable every half hour. If you need to park a motorcycle or scooter, the price is €1.00 per hour from Monday to Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., €0.50 from 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., and all day on Sundays and holidays, with various subscription options.
In Piazzale Montelungo, there is the small Stazione Binario 16 parking lot with 46 spaces at €1.60 per hour, while a few meters away, the Stazione Fortezza Fiera parking lot offers 521 spaces under Fortezza da Basso, ideal if you are attending an event here. Villa Costanza highway parking
Besides on-street or structured parking, if you arrive in Florence by car, you can also leave it at the Villa Costanza multimodal parking and reach the historic center in a few minutes.
This well-equipped parking area is located along the A1 motorway, between the Scandicci and Impruneta exits, directly connected to the tramway, and is accessible only from the highway via the dedicated Villa Costanza toll gate.
Once you have parked your car, to reach the city center, go to the tram stop outside the parking lot, just a few steps from the access/exit turnstile. The line you need to take is T1 Villa Costanza-Careggi, with 26 stops and a total route of 11.5 km. The entire journey takes about 40 minutes, but you only need 22 minutes to reach Alamanni Stazione, at Santa Maria Novella station and the monumental area.
Remember that the tram ticket is not included in the parking fee and can be purchased at ticket machines. A single ticket valid for 90 minutes costs €1.70. The tram operates from Sunday to Thursday from 5:00 a.m. to 0:30 a.m., and on Friday and Saturday from 5:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m.
