Car liability insurance: what it covers

The RCA insurance is the only mandatory insurance required by law and covers damages that your insured vehicle may unintentionally cause to third parties in case of an accident.

Coverage Details

• 6,450,000 € for personal injuries and 1,300,000 € for property damage
• 10,000,000 € for personal injuries and property damage
• 25,000,000 € for personal injuries and property damage

The Insurance Company may exercise right of recourse, for example, in the following cases and up to the following amounts:

• 2,500 € if the driver is driving with an expired or non-converted license (if the renewal or issuance of the Italian license occurs within 6 months from the accident, the Company will not exercise its right of recourse).
• 2,500 € in case of delayed vehicle inspection (if the inspection takes place within 6 months from the accident, the company will not exercise its right of recourse).
• 5,000 € only for the first accident, if the driver is under 26 years of age and the experienced driver option was purchased (no limit if the driver is driving under the influence of alcohol).

Driving Options

Open: there are no driving restrictions. The vehicle can be driven by any person with a valid license, without age limits. This choice does not affect the insurance coverage in case of an accident.

Experienced: the insurance is valid only when the vehicle is driven by people aged 26 or older.
